Q2i Digital Health Solutions - PARCA
PARCA - Helping People with Successful RentrY
Overview
Parka’s focus is to manage, track and support the goals of the Jusitce-Involved-Person (JIP) with the goal of a successful reentry when transferring from incarceration to back in the community. The focus is awareness, easy access and to local services to aid with substance abuse treatment, healthcare, housing services, employment and much more.s the systemic inequities that often prevent JIPs from experiencing a successful reentry into the community.
Communication between providers and JIP’s requires a clear interface for both directions of communication. Similar to OARS, a lot of information for the providers may be extensive, but ideally shown in a manner that makes for easy parsing of information. Research, in person studies, and feedback from providers was key to this process.
Product creation
PARCA was born from a National Institute of Health funded study: “Digital health technology improving successful community supervision of justice-involved individuals with Substance Use Disorders”.

Role
Using existing wireframes based on the research, we refined and added elements to each of the actions while aligning both the interaction and the overall feel to the ORCA approach. While updating the UX of the pages, a style guide was created in tandem. These refinements were used in focus groups and online research studies to determine areas of confusion or ease of use.

Feedback
JIP subjects did not feel overwhelmed by the experience. Felt that this would be beneficial in keeping on track moving forward. They liked the ability to have direct communication and the ease of finding services.
